ETHEKWINI MARITIME CLUSTERI NVITATION FOR THE UNEMPLOYED GRADUATES WHO ARE INTERESTED IN BEING PART OF THE MARITIME INCUBATOR PROGRAMME

 

Introduction

EThekwini Maritime Cluster(EMC) in collaboration with its stakeholders has embarked on an enterprise development programme with an intention to positively contribute towards development of skills and sound enterprise practices in the Maritime industry by empowering unemployed graduates who are interested in being entrepreneurs through a structured training and mentoring programme.

 

Background

EThekwini Maritime Cluster (EMC) is a non-profit company that was launched in 2009. EMC provides a platform for collaborative engagement between different levels of government, state owned enterprises and the maritime community to implement programmes of common interest that support the growth as well as improve performance and competiveness of the maritime industry.

 

Purpose

EMC has four programmes which are Enterprise Development, Skills Development, Industry Promotion and Ship Building. Under the Enterprise Development EMC have two sub programmes that are the Incubation as well as the Acceleration Programme. EMC under Incubation has both physical as well as virtual Incubation. An aspect of the maritime Industry is capital intensive industry, and we have a need to incorporate graduates as a component of the Incubation. The objective of the incubator programme is to facilitattraining and mentoring of the unemployed graduates, who have an intention of being entrepreneurs in the maritime industry.

 

EMC in collaboration with its stakeholders seeks unemployed graduatesin the following fields.

                    Requirements

 

                Candidates must possess the following:

 

               -University Degree

               -Bachelor of Technology

              -National Diploma

 

             - South African Citizen between 18 - 35 years

 

 

              Preference will be given to Black Male and Female candidates
