EThekwini Maritime Cluster (EMC), a non-profit company that provides a platform for collaborative engagement and implementation of programmes of common interest in support of growth and performance improvement and competitiveness of the maritime industry invites applications from suitable applicants for the above vacant position.

KEY OUTPUTS

To position and promote Durban as a Smart Port City and KZN as a centre of Maritime Excellence through Communication strategies and events that shall provide networking and collaborative opportunities and focused marketing of Durban’s maritime facilities through existing structures.

This programme also entails creating and promoting the knowledge management function that would look at developing a body of knowledge management within the Maritime Sector which will lead to a Maritime Knowledge Management Hub.

The Programme Manager amongst others will execute the following:

v  Position and market Durban as a Smart Port City;

v  Position and market Durban as a globally competitive Centre of Maritime Excellence;

v  Execute the Communication Strategy for the Maritime Sector;

v  Create networking platform the maritime sector in Durban;

v  To develop and manage the implementation of Maritime Knowledge Management and development of the Maritime Knowledge Hub.

REQUIREMENT

A relevant Bachelor’s Marketing or Communications degree with at least five (5) years’ experience in the marketing and communication field.  Experience in the Maritime Sector will be an added advantage.  Have excellent communication and presentation skills and be a team player.

Job Type: Two (2) year contract.
Salary: Negotiable.
