We have been very fortunate to secure Siya Xuza as our key note speaker. This is Siya’s last public appearance as he is currently focused on a breakthrough in energy, which could allow Africans to charge mobile devices without using batteries or tapping into national grids.
Siya is a great ambassador for South Africa and testimony that “Together we can”.

The weighty task of ensuring that operations at eight South African ports provide effective, efficient and affordable services falls on the shoulders of Transnet National Ports Authority’s (TNPA) new Chief Operating Officer, Phyllis Difeto.

Ms Difeto is no stranger to dealing with complex business matters, however.

EMC Maritime Careers Guidance Booklet Launched

At an event held at the Coastlands on the Ridge Hotel in Durban on 28 August, the EMC launched its Career Guidance booklet containing over 40 pages of essential information that can be used as a guide for young people in choosing an informed path to their future careers. As the Head of Department in the KwaZulu-Natal Department of Education, Dr Nkosinathi Sishi said at the launch breakfast held for stakeholders, the month of August was chosen as a month for career information for Grade 9 learners at all KZN schools.

During this period each school offering Grade 9 was required to convene a parents and learners information session to assist learners in making informed choices about their intended career paths.
