09/11/2022: The 25th TCI Global Conference: Sustainable Clusters for all gathered more than 194 attendees from 24 countries during the 3-day meeting in Durban, South Africa.
The conference provided an opportunity for EMC to strengthen the global cluster work by adding new contacts to its network, and have been inspired on:
- How clusters can contribute to solving the problems of tomorrow
- How clusters initiatives can build strong bridges across the economy
- How strong cluster policy speeds success and
- How real impact can be accelerated
The tour of the Maritime Cluster included presentations from the EThekwini Maritime cluster and Transnet National Port Authority, taking the delegates through the Master Plan of the Port of Durban and EMC offerings. To put into perspective what they had seen during the presentations, the delegates went on a boat tour around the harbour.
The city of Durban promotes diversity in the form of providing trade of goods and services and exchanging culture in the sense of engaging with the global community through shipping and logistics.
The 26th TCI Global Conference, with the topic “New landscapes for cluster growth,” will be held in Iceland next year (8–10 November; date TBD). The Iceland Tourism Cluster will oversee the event’s planning, working closely with TCI Network.
Save the dates for the TCI Global Conference the following year if you wish to change the environment for clusters.
