Mr. Sibusiso Zondo

Mr. Sibusiso Zondo has been a prominent figure in the maritime industry since joining the sector and cluster in 2014. He initially worked in the office of the Managing Director, where he was responsible for compiling program reports for industry stakeholders and municipal authorities. Later, he was appointed Company Secretary, coordinating the activities of all five committees within the cluster and the board. In 2016, Mr. Zondo transitioned to the Training and Skills Development Unit, serving as an assistant to the program coordinator. His leadership skills were recognised in 2019 when he was appointed to coordinate the Training and Skills Development Programme, a position he has successfully maintained. Additionally, he has led all career expos and related awareness programs since 2017. Mr. Zondo holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science and Economics from the University of KwaZulu-Natal.

Ms. Portia Cele is a communications professional with more than ten years of work experience spanning journalism, corporate communications, and stakeholder engagement. She brings a thoughtful, people-centred approach to her work, combining editorial precision with strategic insight. Ms. Cele currently serves as Secretariat and Corporate Affairs Support at the eThekwini Maritime Cluster, where she supports governance processes, corporate communications, and strategic initiatives that advance the growth of the maritime economy. She holds a Bachelor of Social Science degree – majoring in Media and English Studies (University of KwaZulu-Natal) as well as a Bachelor of Arts Honours degree in Media Theory and Practice (University of Cape Town).

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Mrs Aruna Ramdin
Office Administrator

Mrs Ramdin has been with the EMC since Dec 2014, taking up the role of an office Administrator. She is a highly organised and results-driven professional.  Proficient in a wide range of skills and duties, ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of an office environment and adept at developing and implementing systems to improve productivity and reduce operational costs. Mrs Ramdin seeks to leverage any comprehensive administrative expertise to enhance operational efficiency and support organisational growth.  She works hand in hand with all audits and has done a remarkable job. In 2022, she obtained her National Diploma in Financial Accounting. Mrs Ramdin currently oversees the office administration and handles all the bookkeeping and financial operations of the EMC office.
