10/11/2023: The EThekwini Maritime Cluster (EMC), in partnership with the Moses Kotane Institute (MKI), is thrilled to announce the launch of the KZN Artisan Training Programme. This initiative invites unemployed youth to participate in a comprehensive training program that offers practical experience and skills development in key areas of artisanship.
The programme is designed to provide hands-on training in the following areas of artisanship:
- Boiler Making
- Pipe Fitting
- Metal Fabrication
- Electrical and Mechanical Engineering
This initiative aims to equip participants with practical skills, enhancing their employability in these critical sectors.
In an interview with EMC’s Managing Director Ms. Zenzile Gwamanda, she said “Partnering with Moses Kotane on this initiative reflects our shared dedication to fostering skills development in KZN. The training programme aligns with our mission to empower youth and drive economic growth through education.”
The training programme is proudly funded by the Manufacturing, Engineering, and Related Services SETA (merSETA) and administered by the Moses Kotane Institute. EMC has been selected as the fund beneficiary for this significant training and skills development initiative.
The programme targets unemployed youth in KwaZulu-Natal, providing them with an opportunity to gain valuable skills and practical experience, ultimately enhancing their prospects for meaningful employment.
Participants will benefit from industry-aligned training, ensuring that they acquire skills that are in demand within the manufacturing and engineering sectors.
