Transport Education Training Authority (TETA) is excited to announce that its CEO, Maphefo Anno-Frempong, is set to receive an Honorary Fellow Award at World Maritime University (WMU)in Sweden. The awards ceremony will be hosted in November this year where Anno-Frempong is also expected to speak at the institution’s President Dinner.
World Maritime University is an independent academic institution established by the International Maritime Organization (IMO), an agency of the United Nations. It focuses on offering advanced training in maritime administration, education and management. The university prioritises technical assistance programmes that help developing countries to comply with international rules and standards of maritime safety and maritime pollution prevention and control.
“Members of the Board spoke warmly of [Anno-Frempong’s] support and contribution to the University and its Members of the Board spoke warmly of [Anno-Frempong’s] support and contribution to the University and its global mission and there was complete consensus that [she is the] most deserving recipient of this honour”, said WMO President, Dr Cleopatra Doumbia-Henry.

TETA annually funds master’s and PhD studies at WMU for qualifying South Africans in the maritime industry.
